In this work we tried to note the integrality of the alphanumeric inscriptions that it is possible to find on the different elements that compose an HP Deskjet 1510 printer.
In order to do that, we examined, photographed and archived all the writing traces present inside this printer.
This visual inquiry is in line with Kenneth Goldsmith thinking on “uncreative writing“ and Friedrich A. Kittler theories on digital technology black boxing.
In one word, we wanted to know what was the nature of the texts written inside our digital devices. We asked ourselves if the machines around us could be considered as a literary material.
